Keep Your Home California was established under the U.S. Treasury Department´s Hardest Hit Fund. As part of this federal fund, California was allocated nearly $2 billion to help eligible homeowners avoid preventable foreclosures. So far, the program has provided assistance to more than 25,000 California households, each facing a serious financial hardship.
There are four unique programs that make up Keep Your Home California, all designed to address different aspects of the foreclosure crisis. Homeowners must meet eligibility criteria in order to qualify for assistance, and all Keep Your Home California services are provided free of charge.
Homeowners seeking more information about the program should call 888-954-KEEP (5337) between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. The Keep Your Home California counseling center can answer questions in virtually any language and there is never a charge for services through Keep Your Home California.
