CITY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT TO THE
AREA AGENCY ON AGING ADVISORY COUNCIL
The Moorpark City Council is now accepting applications for appointment to the Ventura County Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council. The two-year term commences upon appointment by the City Council and expires June 30, 2025. Applicants must be age 60 or older, reside within the city limits of the City of Moorpark, and be registered to vote in Moorpark.
The Area Agency on Aging is responsible for the implementation of the Older Americans Act in Ventura County. Its mandated functions are planning and coordinating senior citizen programs and the administration of all Older Americans Act funds.
The Advisory Council is comprised mainly of senior citizens whose purpose it is to advise and promote the orderly development of senior citizen services. The role of the Advisory Council is to provide leadership, input, and advocacy as facilitators between VCAAA and the community, in support of VCAAA’s mission. Twenty delegates serve on the Advisory Council.
The Council meets six times a year in January, March, May, July, September, and November on the second Wednesday of the month from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. in the Advisory Council Center at 646 County Square Drive, Suite 100, Ventura, California. The Moorpark City Council requests that interested persons submit an application for consideration for the City’s appointment to the Advisory Council for the Area Agency on Aging.
