In July, Caltrans installed 16 new signs along the 118 Freeway bridges in Moorpark, between the Princeton Avenue and Los Angeles Avenue freeway exits. However, the signs reflect a new type of sign for Caltrans - they are not traffic signs; they encourage people to reach out for help in a time of crisis. Caltrans posted the signs after local government officials, including those from the City of Moorpark, asked Caltrans to take steps to prevent avoidable deaths along the two bridges.
The City would also remind the public that you may call 2-1-1 from any Ventura County telephone to reach social services, including emergency and crisis hotlines, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. More information about the free, confidential program is available at www.211ventura.org or by dialing 2-1-1.

The City would also like to thank Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services for its role in developing and deploying the signs.
