Residents provide input on priorities to maintain local quality of life
A Quality of Life community survey conducted in Spring 2019 shows that Moorpark residents are highly satisfied with the local quality of life and the services that the City provides-- and want to keep Moorpark a safe, clean place to live, do business and raise a family.
“I want to thank everyone who took the time to participate in this study, and we are gratified to hear that our constituents approve of the work we are doing.” said City Manager Troy Brown. Ninety percent of respondents in the community survey rated the quality of life in Moorpark as ‘excellent’ or ‘good’, while nearly eighty four percent were satisfied with the City’s performance in providing municipal services.
Residents strongly prioritize maintaining 911 emergency response, keeping parks and public areas safe and clean, fixing streets and repairing potholes and maintaining sidewalks, and reducing gang and drug related crimes.
Residents were also interested in keeping all of Moorpark’s 19 parks open at their current service levels.
“This community feedback is extremely helpful. We want to continue to engage the public on these quality of life issues,” continued Brown. “These perspectives not only inform our current City Council strategic goal-setting and budget planning, but help us to improve transparency and teamwork by making the community a true partner in our efforts to achieve government accountability, trust, safe neighborhoods, and the quality of life our residents have come to expect and deserve. We look forward to continuing the conversation in the coming months with residents citywide.”
