Street Sweeping Parking Enforcement Begins November 9

Street Sweeping Parking Enforcement Resumes November 9

The City of Moorpark will resume ticketing vehicles that remain on City streets during street sweeping times beginning Monday, November 9, 2020.  The City had temporarily suspended issuing parking tickets in March 2020 in response to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in recognition that a number of residents were at home during the day when they would normally be at work, school, or socializing.  With the fall season beginning and additional leaf litter anticipated along the street curbs, this is a critical time period for streets to be free of vehicles in order to ensure that excessive leaves and debris are removed before going into storm drains that can cause blockages and potentially lead to flooding during the rainy season.

Notices will be posted on vehicles that are left parked on the street during street sweeping days and times prior to November 9, 2020 in order to provide residents with additional information about the resumption of street sweeping ticketing.  The City has performed street sweeping services without interruption since COVID-19 began.  While the City encouraged residents to move their vehicles during street sweeping days and times, some vehicles would remain parked on the street.
