What is the American Rescue Plan?
In March 2021, Congress passed the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA), which established the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund. This fund helps local governments nationwide with COVID-19 pandemic recovery assistance and specific types of infrastructure investment.
Moorpark is expected to receive $8.7 million in federal funding as part of the ARPA. Funds must be obligated by December 31, 2024, and funds must be expended by December 31, 2026.
The City of Moorpark expects to receive the first installment of our disbursement in July 2021 and the second installment will follow a year from that.
While we wait for the final guidelines from the federal government, The City is beginning to plan for the use of the ARP funds as part of our planning and development process. Your input on this survey will help guide the City’s use of the funds and help maximize their impact in our community.
