The Moorpark City Council is now accepting applications for appointment to the Arts Commission. The appointment is to serve a two-year term to expire December 2024.
Arts Commission applicants must be a registered voter, reside within the City’s Area of Interest or within the Moorpark Unified School District boundaries or must be a business owner within the City of Moorpark. The Arts Commission acts in an advisory capacity and review the conceptual design and placement of artwork, solicit public comment, and provide a recommendation to the City Council on the design and location, as well as perform such other duties as may be requested from time to time by the City Council, including already-underway development of the City's Arts Master Plan. The Moorpark Arts Commission meets quarterly on the third Tuesday of February, May, August, and November at 6:00 p.m.
All applicants will be required to attend a regular City Council meeting on December 21, 2022 or one other meeting date, as yet to be determined, to make a brief presentation (not to exceed three minutes) on qualifications and interest in the appointment. Use of a PowerPoint presentation will be permitted if the City Clerk has been provided with the file no less than 24 hours prior to the meeting. Failure to make a presentation shall result in disqualification for appointment.
