Take & Make Craft Kits

Flex your artistic and DIY muscles with a monthly project for grades 6-12. Come to the Library and pick up your kit to take with you and make whenever you like. New kit every month while supplies last.

After-Hours Movie Night

Friday, October 21 at 5 PM

Come see the 1996 comedy science fiction film directed by Tim Burton and featuring music created with a theremin! Bring your own snacks, blankets, pillows, etc., for a fun after-hours movie screening. Rated PG-13. Ages 13+.

The Astonishing Theremin 

Saturday, October 22 at 1 PM

Witness the awe, wonder, and mystery of the theremin! An instrument invented in 1920 that you play without even touching. It has long been used to create music and sound effects for science fiction, horror, and other films. Ed Sussman presents the history and a demonstration of the theremin, and finally, the audience will be able to try this unique instrument themselves! Ages 13+.  

Linking Art & Science

Wednesday, November 9 at 6 PM

Science and Art are ways of appreciating the beauty of the natural world. Together, they enrich our lives. Brian Matsumoto, a consultant on photomicrography, and Carol Roullard, a member of the Moorpark Art Commission, have an extensive background in scientific and artistic photography, have published more than a dozen books, and will display art illustrations from science and describe how to create science art photographs with a cell phone. Ages 13+.
