ACCESSORY DWELLING UNIT STANDARD PLANS AVAILABLE FOR USE*:

700 Square Foot ADU Standard Plan

900 Square Foot ADU Standard Plan

1,188 Square Foot ADU Standard Plan

*These plans only cover structural design and act as rough floor plans.  The following items will still be required or need to be addressed during plan check:

  1. Ventura County Fire Department approval
  2. Ventura County Water/Sanitary District approval
  3. Moorpark Unified School District approval
  4. Site plan showing setbacks to property lines
  5. Solar panels 
  6. Mechanical, electrical and plumbing plans 
  7. Title 24 energy forms
  8. Application of high fire construction standards if property is located inside high fire zone

Also note that an accessory dwelling unit cannot be installed:

  1. Inside of a floodplain
  2. On a slope
  3. Less than 5' from property lines or adjacent structures
